FOX News Hits The Nail On The Head!

Published by threedegrees at 3:04 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

Just in from the Fair and Balanced folks…Obama has a 6 point lead in the latest Fox News poll . This poll shows the widest margin between the two candidates the “news organization” has released to date.

McCain held a 3-point advantage earlier this month immediately after the Republican convention (September 8-9). Before that Obama had a 3-point lead going into the Democratic convention (August 19-20). Looking back as far as a year ago, in head-to-head polling neither candidate has had a lead outside the poll’s margin of sampling error. Obama’s lead today is just at the outside edge of the margin of error.

Now, I’m not the biggest fan of FAUX News, mostly becasue I like facts. This, however, has got to be seen as the most biased network finally getting it right. Even right wingnuts should be shaking in their Capezios at this. Some other items of note from the Fox poll:

The poll shows Obama has improved his position on the most important issue to voters this year — the economy. He is seen as the best candidate to handle the nation’s economy, and more voters also say he would be better at handling the current financial crisis facing the country.

and…

By a 5-point margin more voters think the Democratic ticket has “better judgment combined” — a reversal from two weeks ago when the Republican ticket had a 4-point edge.

Which is a 9 point swing in Obama’s direction, by my count, amongst those polled by FOX Noise. Also,

When the question asks what if it were necessary for the vice president to step in and serve as president: 44 percent would be “extremely” or “very” comfortable with Biden as president, and 32 percent with Palin.

So this is where things stand, according to the Roger Ailes crowd. It should be noted that the ABC/WaPo poll has Obama at 52% McCain 43%, and the Research 2000 tracking poll has Obama 49% McCain 43%. The projections based website, FiveThirtyEight.com, which accurately predicted the presidential primaries, as well as the House race from 2006, has Nov. 4th looking like this: Electoral College 309 Obama 229 McCain, with 50.3% of the popular vote to Obama vs. 48% McCain.

What does any of this mean? I report, you decide.

The big difference comes at the other end of the scale: 38 percent of voters say they would be “not at all” comfortable with Palin stepping in to serve as president — more than twice as many as say the same about Biden (17 percent).

I agree with most of your points, but MSNBC and CNN are not any better about being non-biased and supporting the facts.

I’ll give you MSNBC, with the exception of David Gregory, who may as well be a McCain camp staffer, but CNN is, and has always been in the tank for the GOP. The only people that have ever challenged McCain, or his surrogates, on anything have been Campbell Brown and Jack Cafferty.

Good news. I’ll race you to see who can write a post first about McCain chickening out of Friday’s debate.

If Fox News even reports that Obama has the lead by that little of a margin, then his real lead must be much greater.

Its about fox said something right! I think Obama will defeat McCain in a landslide if the economy doesn’t turn around in the next month.
